The International Collaboration for Cancer Classification and Research (IC3R) is a high-level international consortium of leading institutions in the field of cancer research and the classification of tumours. Its mission is to provide standards for research and to critically appraise evidence for tumour classification and cancer diagnosis, permitting rapid translation of tumour research into clinical diagnostic practice.

IC3R is broad in scope, covering a spectrum of initiatives and activities that range from cancer-related research and data sharing, through international standard-setting, to quality management and accreditation, as well as promotion of evidence-based pathology and facilitation of communication between health systems, industry, and regulatory bodies. The development of evidence-based pathology and evidence-based practice in related fields will be a core component of IC3R, together with international standard-setting and data sharing initiatives.

The organizational structure of the IC3R consortium comprises two types of members: core members and full members.
